OK - so we are here, first keynote, well done Alan - an interesting and provocative presentation. I will not pretend to fully understand all the concepts and theories underpinning the work but it was certainly a 'different' start to Ed-Media.

This will be my first Ed-Media conferecne too. I will be presenting my initial findings on the use of twitter in conjunction with a wiki for project supervision.

Looking forward to meet and network with like minded people. I am interested in blended learning (online blended with face to face that is).

Dr. Siemens,

In March I had submitted an article for Innovate magazine, which was the first time I had heard your name. I was submitting for the June/July '08 issue, and then when I read your blog, I realized you were the same person who was serving as the special guest editor for that issue. I have reviewed your writings on connectivism, and my June/July submission touched on your theory, as well as others. I would very much like to meet with you to further discuss your theory, as well as my new learning theory, Social and Cognitive-Connectedness Schema (SCCS). I will be giving a brief presentation of it at the Ed-Media conference on Thursday, July 3, from 5:30-5:50pm. Will you be presenting on connectivism at the conference?

I am a faculty member at a university in Switzerland, and have been using technology for teaching since about 8 years. In the past two years we have developed games and puzzles for use in the course, Applied Business Mathematics, which I teach in the first semester of B.SC in Management. I would like to now test the effectiveness of games and puzzles in learning.
Talking of tools, I would like to know whether you are going to make available a tool which would help networking. I am thinking of a web-based tool where I can fix short meetings with other attendees of the conference. The conference in Vienna is my first ED-MEDIA conference, and I would like to meet and talk to people who have similar interests as myself.

I agree that Networking is important for conferences. I’ve met people from different institutions and either kept exchanging ideas or started collaboration with them. I was a recently a tech-support for a conference and one of the presenters that I assisted sent me an email to thank me a couple of days later. That’s always nice. Hope to see you face-to-face in Vienna, too!
