[edit] Thank you to all who attended the CHLA/ABSC Conference 2009 in Winnipeg, May 30 - June 3, 2009. Your attendance & participation helped make it a successful event. The presentations from the keynote and invited speakers and contributed papers are now available on our website.

The sky’s the limit for health librarianship in 2009! Plan to meet in Winnipeg, the host city for the 33rd annual Conference of the Canadian Health Libraries Association/ Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada (CHLA/ ABSC).
Enjoy the limitless prairie sky as you participate in the exciting program developed by the Conference Planning Committee. We promise a rewarding conference with engaging speakers, including Dr. Alex Jadad from the Centre for Global e-Health Innovation, Dr. Thomas Kerr, renowned in HIV/AIDS research and the 2007 winner of CIHR's Health Translation Award, writer and consultant on the Web and health information, David Rothman, and CBC personality Nora Young. Stimulating continuing education opportunities and enjoyable social activities will round out your conference experience.
The historic and elegant Fort Garry, a former Grand Trunk Pacific Railway hotel, is our conference venue. Its central location will put you within walking distance of excellent restaurants, shopping opportunities and cultural attractions such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Manitoba Museum and the Manitoba Legislature. Just across the street is The Forks, a popular destination for river walks as well as marketplace and boutique shopping and dining. A short walk across the beautiful Esplanade Riel Bridge will take you into St. Boniface, Winnipeg’s French quarter, and home to the impressive Cathedral and numerous cafes.

En 2009, les possibilities sont illimitées pour les bibliothèques de santé! Assurez-vous d’être à Winnipeg, la ville d’accueil pour la 33eme réunion annuelle de l’Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada (ABSC).
Soyez enchanté par le grand ciel de la prairie pendant que vous assistez au programme sensationnel développé par le comité pour l’organisation de la réunion. Nous vous assurons une réunion enrichissante et des orateurs engageants tels que le Dr. Alex Jadad, fondateur du Centre for Global eHealth Innovation, Dr. Thomas Kerr, rénommé pour son recherche sur VIH/ SIDA ainsi que le récipiendaire du Prix de l'application des connaissances des IRSC 2007, David Rothman, bibliothécaire en santé, et Nora Young, une personnalité bien connue du CBC. Il y aura aussi plusieurs opportunités pour la formation professionnelle ainsi que des activités sociales stimulantes.
La réunion aura lieu au Fort Garry, un establissement hôtelier historique et élégant – Le Fort Garry, qui fut jadis un hôtel de la Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. L’emplacement central de l’hôtel vous situera à quelques minutes de marche de plusieurs lieux de divertissements tels que des restaurants et des boutiques. Les meilleures attractions culturelles soit le Musée de beaux-arts de Winnipeg, le Musée du Manitoba et l’édifice de l’Assemblée législative du Manitoba ce situent dans ce quartier. À quelques pas se trouve La Fourche, un lieu de rencontre qui est populaire pour des promenades au bord de la rivière ainsi que pour des boutiques et des restaurants. Une promenade de quelques minutes vous amène à l’Esplanade Riel – l’entrée à Saint- Boniface, le quartier français de Winnipeg. Ici on y retrouve la Cathedrale Saint-Boniface et plusieurs cafés.
